Community Bridges is proud to announce that our CEO, Kelly Friedlander, has been named to the 40 Under 40 list by Triangle Business Journal. This annual recognition honors outstanding professionals under the age of 40 for their significant contributions to their organizations and to the community. This year, over 200 nominations were submitted for consideration. Kelly's recognition is a testament to her efforts and accomplishments in fostering a more equitable and inclusive service system. She has ardently advocated for the engagement and fair compensation of individuals with lived experience of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her relentless commitment has empowered numerous individuals to participate in compensated work where their unique insights and firsthand knowledge shape policies and decision-making processes. In addition to her work at Community Bridges, Kelly dedicates approximately 20 percent of her time to volunteer service and pro bono activities. She serves on a variety of advisory groups, including the Meet the Need NC Workgroup, the Building Capacity for HCBS through the Collective Impact Steering Committee, HOPE NC, and the DHHS’ Olmstead Plan Stakeholder Advisory (OPSA). Kelly also offers pro-bono advocacy coaching to individuals and families and mentors social workers entering the field. All the honorees of the 40 Under 40 awards will be celebrated at an event on June 29 at the Fletcher Opera Theater in Raleigh. #Leadership #TriangleBusinessJournal
